The biggest drain that a cars battery gets is when you start the engine once the engine gets going you get electrcity from the alternator. That said Im surprised such a small device can consume enough current to drain. Reply 9 on.

If you only use it while the engine is on I dont see any problem regarding battery drain. Asked on January 22 2018. If you have a car that leaves 12vdc to the lighter socket without the ignition key being on then anything plugged into the outlet will consume power and yes run your battery down. The only time it actually does connect is when Im in the car.
